Plaza de la Encarnacion - The Mushroom

In the heart of old Sevilla is a modern structure of a giant undulating canopy of 5 waffle patterned mushroom shaped hundred foot tall structures provides shade to the formerly sun baked square. This creation was finished in 2011. It is very weird to see such a strange canopy in an historic centre. Under the canopy is a gazebo for performances, a market and the Antiqvarivm ( a museum displaying Roman ruins found during the excavation of the site).
