The wineries are located at the top of the mountains, apparently the best grapes are near the river (15%). The ride to the top is extremely steep, on a windy, dirt road, barely wide enough for one vehicle. To say the least it is hairy and worse than the Amalfi Coast road. I was beginning to wonder what I had gotten in to. A road like this would make any one drink! Needless to say the bus drivers are excellent and we made it back to the boat waiting for us in Pinhoa.
