Sacromonte

The Sacromonte district is home to Granada's thriving Roma community. It is located next door to the Albayzin district. Sacromonte is smaller and very steep, most of the houses are burrowed into the wall of the cliff. Sacromonte is known as the district with the cave houses. One cave house was for sale for over 100,000 Euros and it had 3 bedrooms. The temperature in the caves is constant at about 20 degrees making it good in the hot summers and cool winters. As this is considered a gypsy area, there are many restaurants with flamenco dancers.
